Laser Tattoo Removal

About Laser Tattoo Removal

How does Laser Tattoo Removal work?

During the procedure, we use laser technology to treat tattooed areas of the skin. The laser is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. The tattoo ink particles absorb the laser energy, heat up, and shatter into smaller ink particles. After a few days or weeks after the treatment, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade. Over a series of treatments, more and more of the ink shatters which gradually removes the tattoo.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of sessions needed to remove your tattoo depends on the size of the tattoos, the colors used, the ink type and your skin type. On average we recommend about 6-10 sessions once every four to six weeks for the best results. Please keep in mind that every tattoo is different and some people may need more than the average number of treatments for desired results.

What will happen after treatment?

Laser tattoo removal recovery is minimal. You may experience some discomfort around and in the treatment area, but it should not inhibit you from your daily activities. You might experience some redness, swelling, bruising/yellowing and minor blistering around the treated area. These side effects are temporary and your skin should heal within one to two weeks.

Is it painful?

The feeling you experience from Laser Tattoo Removal varies from person to person. Most people say that the feeling is similar to the feeling of a rubber band snapping against your skin. Some people find it painless. It is a very quick treatment that only takes minutes for a small tattoo.
